About Us

Founded in 2022 by Dr. Stefie J Stephen and Dr. Jermie J Stephen, distinguished IIT Madras alumnus, Little Florets' Montessori was born out of a deep passion for early childhood education. Inspired by the Montessori philosophy, we believe in the power of hands-on learning to nurture independence, curiosity, and confidence in young children. Our mission is to create a joyful, child-centered environment where kids aged 1.5 to 6 years are empowered to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace—building a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning.

At Little Florets' Montessori, we embrace the Montessori philosophy established by Dr. Maria Montessori, focusing on child-led learning in a carefully prepared environment. Our approach encourages hands-on exploration, problem-solving, and self-directed growth, allowing children to develop independence, self-discipline, and a lifelong passion for learning. By honoring each child's unique potential, we support their holistic development—intellectual, emotional, social, and physical, creating a strong foundation for academic excellence, personal growth, and lifelong achievements.

A typical day at Little Florets' Montessori

At Little Florets Montessori, each day is thoughtfully designed to nurture independence, curiosity, and joyful learning.

• Our Montessori educators warmly welcome children at the gates from 8.45 AM, ensuring a smooth transition into their day. Every child has a designated space for their shoes and belongings, fostering organization and responsibility.

• Children then engage in self-directed learning, choosing from a variety of Montessori materials previously introduced to them. Whether working independently or in small groups, they explore concepts through hands-on activities, returning materials to their designated places after use.

• We respect each child’s natural rhythm and do not enforce a fixed snack schedule. Instead, we support their individual biological needs, ensuring a stress-free and nourishing experience.

• Children independently open their bags and lunch/snack boxes, eating their meals. This fosters self-reliance and fine motor skills in a supportive environment.

• If an educator observes child without purposeful activity, they may invite them to a small group lesson (maximum 4 children) for focused attention and engagement. Group lesson include blend of activities like songs, rhymes, storytelling, reading and collaborative learning.

• Every child receives personalized attention from the educators, ensuring they feel supported, encouraged, and guided in their learning journey.

TODDLER ENVIRONMENT

PRIMARY ENVIRONMENT

(2.5 to 6 years)

DAY CARE
